Associate Professor of Sociology at the Institute for Social Sciences, University of Minho. Her interdisciplinary work bridges Medical Sociology, Science and Technology Studies, and Empirical Ethics, focusing on people-centred health policies, integrated care within socio-technical environments, and the implications of disruptive technologies. In the fAIces project, she explores ethical and governance challenges in health innovation, including the role of academic communities and startups in shaping AI-driven solutions. In particular, she explores how facial analysis technologies are visually and discursively enacted as tools for medical diagnosis and behavioural health.
