On 27 March, Helena Machado will participate in the session “AI: Between Human Intentions and Machine Autonomy”, part of the Festival Impacto, taking place at Palco Impacto, FNAC Chiado (18:15h).
As artificial intelligence rapidly evolves—learning from human behaviour, making decisions, and increasingly shaping social dynamics—this conversation will explore the ethical dilemmas and societal implications of these technologies. The discussion will reflect on the balance between human control and machine autonomy, as well as the broader social, political, and geopolitical impacts of AI.
The session invites participants to consider pressing questions: To what extent will we continue to control the technologies we create? What kind of future are we shaping for the next generations? And how much ethical responsibility are we transferring to algorithms?
The fAIces project thus contributes to this important dialogue on the role of AI in shaping our shared future.
